This should make you laugh!

This weekend I attended a Christian Writers Boot Camp held at Beeson Divinity. My dear friends Denise George and Carolyn Tomlin teach the workshop. I have dressed nicely because I will be recognized for my book String of Pearls.

Running through the parking lot with my bag of books, purse, and note pad, I try to hold onto an umbrella that the wind finds attractive. I arrive at the building. My new black skirt and suede boots are now glistening from finding favor with the rain.  The hair spray that held my hair in its straight position has succumb to the moisture and will re-dry with my natural frizz!

Walking into the room I see the smiling faces of Denise and Carolyn.  Thankful to be indoors, I give them both a hug. Then, I fall down the first step spilling my coffee all over the wall.

Feeling over dressed for the job, I get on my hands and knees and wipe down the wall.

Looking up from my humble position, I see Dr. Timothy George, the Dean of Beeson. This is not the way to begin this workshop!

After greeting Timothy, I find my way to a chair.

Everyone who has published a book this year is honored with a framed cover of their book and recognition of their accomplishment by Dr. George. I was able to make my way  onto the stage and walk across without any problems.

The workshop is great, as usual.  They teach us a little about blogging, self-publishing, and writing grants to make money at home.

As I gather my belongs to leave, I turn to walk back up the stairs.  Yep, you have guess it!

I fell  up the stairs. Don’t ask me how I fell up, I just did!  (It is okay to laugh.)

Proverb 24:16 “For the rightous man falls seven times, and rises again, but the wicked stumble in time of calamity.

At least I did not fall seven times, or fall in time of calamity, though it was beginning to feel that way.  I did rise again, so I guess I am doing okay.

I hope this story brings a smile to you today.  You know I love hearing from you, so tell me, what was your latest funny story?
